James, Allison and I had our taste of Lux Sugar's cupcakes at a Cupcakes Take the Cake event for Mardi Gras. This bakery, located in Brooklyn, specializes in custom cakes so the event organizers ordered special themed purple, green and gold cakes for the event. Judging from their website, Lux features a variety of flavors including red velvet (Marilyn Monroe), strawberry (Paris Hilton), vanilla bean (Audrey Hepburn), etc. with fun celeb names.The cake I tried was a vanilla with green sugary icing. It was delish! The cake was moist and the icing was just right - the perfect amount on top and just the right level of sweetness. If you are in the East Williamsburg, Brooklyn area, you should check it out. Apparently they are located in Boulevard Cafe...I have to confirm this. I know they also have a booth at the Brooklyn Flea though, something I've been meaning to check out. So there you go!
